March 14, 2007, Cincinnati, Ohio. Olympic soccer gold medalist and Cincinnati native, Heather Mitts is hosting the 2008 Heather Mitts Summer Soccer Camp on June 25th and June 26th at The Summit Country Day School in Cincinnati for all area players aged 8 to 13. There are only 100 spots available. Registration will be open to all Greater Cincinnati Area soccer players until June 13th 2008. In addition to Heather Mitts, several US National Team players, NCAA Division I players and coaches will serve as hands-on instructors including (US Players are subject to change):
- Kristin Luckenbill-Goalie, US National Team

Daily sessions (1pm to 5:30pm) will focus on the following:

  • National Team drills and training demonstrations
  • Technical sessions
  • Small Group Tactical Development
  • Team World Cup Tournament (awards and prizes)
  • Autograph sessions with Q&A (parents encouraged to stay)

Heather began her soccer career with Cincinnati St. Ursula Academy and led them to the 1993 Ohio High School State Championship. Heather was also 1st team All-State as a Junior and Senior while attending St. Ursula. From there Heather then led the University of Florida to the 1999 NCAA National Championship and was named 1st team All-Sec and 1st team All-American. Following her college career, Heather was named to the US National Team and while a member she also played professionally with the WUSA Philadelphia Charge. Heather was a WUSA All-Star in 2003. In 2004 Heather was key defensive player for the 2004 United States Olympic Gold Medal team in Athens, Greece. She is currently in training with the US National Team in preparation for the upcoming 2008 Summer Olympics.
